Elsa Farbos est née en France, dans la région parisienne, en 1987. A partir de 2007 elle étudie aux Beaux Arts de Nantes avant d’approfondir sa pratique de la sculpture, à la Haute école des arts du Rhin (Strasbourg) où elle obtient son diplôme avec les félicitations.

Intéressée par la place singulière que la culture architecturale et artistique allemande réserve aux matériaux, elle s’installe à Stuttgart en 2014 et continue son travail au sein de l’atelier de Mariella Mosler à la Kunstakademie. Dans le cadre du concours d'idée No art-No city organisé par les architectes Ortner & Ortner et la Kunstakademie elle remporte le premier prix pour son projet "Ein Mauer wie eine Frau".

Aujourd’hui, grace à la bourse Stipendium des Landkreises Esslingen 2016-2019 , elle bénificie d’un atelier pour trois ans lui permettant définitivement de s’affirmer dans la vie culturelle de Stuttgart. Elle participe par ailleurs à différents projets collectifs à Strasbourg, Nantes et, plus récemment, à Kinshasa (RDC).

Elsa Farbos was born in 1987 in France, on the outskirts of Paris. She started her studies in Nantes' “Beaux Arts” school in 2007 before perfecting her sculpting technique at the “ Haute école des arts du Rhin” in Strasbourg, from which she graduated with highest honors.

Pushed by the special place materials have in German art and architecture, she moved to Stuttgart in 2014 to work in Mariella Mosler's studio in the Kunstakademie. She went on to win the first prize in the idea contest “No art-No city” organized by architects Ortner & Ortner and the Kunstakademie with her project "Ein Mauer wie eine Frau".

Thanks to the “ Stipendium des Landkreises Esslingen 2016-2019” grant, she now has access to a studio for the next three years, allowing her to definitively take her marks in the cultural life of Stuttgart. Besides, she participates in several collective projects in Strasbourg, Nantes, and more recently in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
